Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BaseHalf collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, web application, documentation, and related services.
1. Scope
This policy applies to BaseHalf public pages, authenticated product surfaces, docs, blog, support workflows, and account-related services. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or integrations that we do not control.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated while you use BaseHalf, and information processed by service providers that help us operate the product.
- Account information: email address, display name, authentication provider, login events, and account settings.
- Workspace content: Maps, Point pages, Blocks, References, prompts, AI instructions, imported text, uploaded files, generated content, comments, and edits you make in the product.
- AI interaction data: requests you send, context selected for those requests, responses generated for you, tool activity, and operational metadata needed to deliver AI features.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, feature interactions, approximate device and browser information, IP address, timestamps, logs, performance events, and diagnostic events.
- Payment information: purchases, credit balances, invoices, and billing status. Payment card details are processed by Stripe; BaseHalf does not store full card numbers.
- Support and communications: messages you send to us, feedback, issue reports, and related metadata.
- Cookies and local storage: session state, authentication state, preferences, and similar browser storage needed to run the product.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- provide, secure, and maintain BaseHalf
- create and preserve Maps, Points, Blocks, References, and related context
- authenticate users and prevent account abuse
- process payments, credits, invoices, and billing support
- generate, revise, and organize AI-assisted output
- debug errors, measure reliability, and improve product quality
- communicate service updates, security notices, and support responses
- enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations
4. AI Processing and Workspace Context
BaseHalf is an AI workspace. When you ask the product to generate, revise, summarize, or organize content, relevant prompts, files, workspace context, and generated output may be sent to AI service providers or infrastructure providers so they can process the request.
BaseHalf is designed around reusable context. A Map, Point, Block, or Reference may be used independently, combined with other context, and carried into later questions when you choose to use it that way.
You should not upload content unless you have the right to use it with BaseHalf. Avoid uploading highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the service.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when needed to operate BaseHalf, protect users, or comply with law.
- Service providers: hosting, storage, authentication, payment processing, AI processing, logging, security, and support vendors.
- Legal and safety: authorities or third parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent abuse.
- Business transfers: a successor or affiliate if BaseHalf is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset transfer.
- Aggregated or de-identified information: information that does not reasonably identify you may be used for analytics, product improvement, or public reporting.
6. Third-Party Services
BaseHalf may rely on third-party providers for infrastructure, authentication, payments, AI processing, monitoring, and support. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies and our agreements with them where applicable.
Examples may include cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors such as Stripe, authentication providers, AI model providers, and operational monitoring tools.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
BaseHalf uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect accounts, understand basic product usage, and improve reliability.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some product features may not work correctly if session, authentication, or security storage is disabled.
8. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide BaseHalf, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
- Account and workspace content is generally retained while your account is active.
- Deleted content may be removed from active systems but remain in backups, logs, or audit records for a limited period.
- Billing, security, and audit records may be retained longer where required for legal, tax, fraud prevention, or operational reasons.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encrypted transport, infrastructure security controls, and monitoring. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to limit access to information based on legitimate business need.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information.
You can request help by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained where required for security, legal, billing, or legitimate operational reasons.
11. International Transfers
BaseHalf may process information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer information internationally, we use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the service providers involved.
12. Children
BaseHalf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BaseHalf, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BaseHalf changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
